Brett Caine, President and CEO
As president and CEO of Urban Airship, Brett Caine is responsible for leading the organization’s growth and global expansion strategies.
Brett Caine brings 22-years of executive experience in the technology industry with a strong background in scaling Software as a Service (SaaS) businesses from startups in emerging markets to the global “go-to” choice in mature industries. As former president of Citrix Online, Brett grew revenue from $40M to $600M over his 10-years with the company to become one of the largest SaaS providers in the world. Prior to joining Citrix Online, Caine held executive positions with several leading software companies including Openwave Systems, Software.com and Clarify, Inc.
Brett is a board member of Kareo and a board advisor to mobile, SaaS and cloud startups, advising CEOs on market strategy, product positioning and fundraising. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from New York University.
Mike Temple, Chief Financial Officer
Mike Temple is the CFO at Urban Airship and is responsible for leading the company's financial, accounting and operations organizations.
Mike brings more than 20 years’ experience in executive finance roles from a broad spectrum of business sectors including software, medical devices, traditional manufacturing, and service delivery for public, private, startup and not-for private enterprises. Prior to Urban Airship, Mike was the President of PlusPoint, a consulting CFO practice, and prior to PlusPoint he was CEO of Sonivate Medical. He has served in a number of executive finance and operational roles, including CFO/COO of Open Source Development Labs, CFO/Executive VP and General Manager of Bioject Inc., CFO of the Yoshida Group, CFO of Inovise Medical, and CFO of FamilyCare Health Plans.
Mike holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Portland.
Erin Hintz, Chief Marketing Officer
Erin Hintz is the CMO of Urban Airship and is responsible for the company’s market growth strategy, demand-generation, communications and product marketing.
She brings a wealth of enterprise, SMB and consumer marketing experience to Urban Airship, previously serving as the vice president and general manager of global marketing and ecommerce for the Citrix SaaS Division, where she drove all global marketing activities and grew revenues from $350M to $700M. Prior to Citrix, Erin led the worldwide marketing organization of Symantec’s Norton consumer business growing revenues from $350M to more than $2B dollars during her tenure. She has held several executive roles in product management, marketing and public relations.
Erin received her post graduate diploma in management studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and an Honors B.A. from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She is active in the Silicon Valley community holding board and serves in advisory roles with Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT) and Zuberance.
Brent Hieggelke, Chief Mobile Evangelist
Brent Hieggelke is the chief mobile evangelist for Urban Airship and is responsible for uncovering and inspiring innovation with customers, app development and agency partners, mobile platform providers and the industry-at-large.
Before Urban Airship, Brent spent more than a decade helping brands optimize digital marketing initiatives in Marketing Executive positions at WebTrends, TouchClarity and Omniture. Most recently, Brent founded and launched Second Porch, the first Facebook-integrated social vacation rental site that was sold to HomeAway, Inc. in May 2011. Early in his career, Brent also co-founded New City, a media company in Chicago.
Brent has been awarded multiple marketing awards, and is a frequent speaker at both marketing and digital conferences. He is a member of the Mobile Marketing Association’s North America board and the International Executive Council of the Internet Marketing Association.
Mike Herrick, Senior Vice President of Product & Engineering
Mike Herrick is the SVP of Product & Engineering at Urban Airship and is responsible for developing, operating, supporting, and sustaining Urban Airship’s products. He joined the company in 2010.
Prior to Urban Airship, Mike was the Vice President of Products for Collaborative Software Initiative. In that role, he was responsible for product management, product development, technical support, and hosted operations. Prior to Collaborative Software Initiative, Mike built a broad background in the software business with management and individual contributor roles at Liberty Mutual, C-bridge/eXcelon (now Progress Software), Mentor Graphics, and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Mike holds a BS in Management Information Systems from the University of Dayton.
Steve Sterba, Senior Vice President of Customer Success
Steve Sterba is the SVP of Customer Success at Urban Airship, overseeing strategic consulting, technical integration, account management and technical support teams.
Steve has over thirty years of leadership experience in successful international public and private technology companies with a focus on software. Prior to joining Urban Airship, Steve was the CEO of Greater Giving and MyHealthBank, two private venture-backed companies that were sold to public companies. Other previous roles included SVP of Business Development/Consulting at DataChannel, SVP of US Operations at MetaPath Software International, Executive Director of Latin America Operations and Director of Services in North America and Asia for Sequent Computer Systems, and management positions at Intel in the Systems and Supercomputer Divisions.
Steve is an angel investor, a board advisor for the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network and board advisor to several technology companies.
Mike Musson, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Development
Mike Musson is the senior vice president of strategy & business development at Urban Airship, responsible for developing the company’s strategic point of view and identifying partnership and acquisition opportunities for complementary solutions and markets.
Previously, Mike was vice president of business development at the Citrix SaaS Division where he led teams responsible for strategic partnerships and M&A activity, completing eight acquisitions and expanding its addressable market opportunity by $10B over 8 years through solution expansions and new market entry into China and Japan. Prior to Citrix, Mike held executive-level positions at Oracle, Applied Materials, Software.com and Openwave. He also served as a buy-side equity research analyst and consultant to Friess Associates/Brandywine Funds, and co-founded Tournabout Inc., negotiating its sale to Novint Technologies as CEO.
Mike holds a bachelor's degree in economics and political science from Stanford University, a master's degree in humanities, history and political science from Mt. St. Mary's College. He also completed the treasury and cash management program from Hass School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
Mark Baker, Senior Vice President of Global Sales
Mark Baker, SVP of Global Sales at Urban Airship, is responsible for leading the company’s worldwide sales efforts and continuing to grow the company’s position as the Mobile Relationship Management platform of choice for leading brands globally.
Mark brings more than 25 years experience in sales, developing high-performing sales teams, and implementing strategies that deliver superior results, maximizing both client satisfaction and revenue. Previously, Mark was Vice President of Global Sales for Citrix’s SaaS division, where he led a global sales team of 600 people and helped to grow sales bookings from $18M to more than $140M in new annualized revenue. Prior to Citrix, he was the Area Vice President and Vice President of Sales for Monster where he led a team of more than 100 outside and inside sales people and support teams.
Mark is a Portland native and holds a BA in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Portland State University.
Suk Kim, Vice President and General Counsel
Suk Kim, Vice President and General Counsel at Urban Airship, is responsible for worldwide legal affairs at the company, including, corporate, commercial, contracts, IP, litigation and privacy matters.
She brings 14 years of experience as a law firm attorney and in-house counsel across a broad range of industries including technology, media, entertainment and consumer services. Previously, Suk was the VP and General Counsel of Webtrends where she managed all legal matters. Prior to Webtrends, Suk was an attorney in the Portland offices of Perkins Coie LLP, where she advised clients on technology transactions and intellectual property matters. She also served as a media and IP transactions attorney in the New York offices of Paul, Weiss LL P, and began her career as a securities lawyer with the international firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP.
Suk also serves as a director on the board of the Technology Association of Oregon. She received her JD from Columbia University School of Law , and a BA from Wesleyan University.
Erin Reeves, Director of Human Resources
Erin Reeves, Director of Human Resources at Urban Airship, is responsible for employee relations, internal operations and recruiting.
With more than 17 years of experience leading human resource functions across a variety of industries, Erin has proven experience developing and delivering programs that support rapid-growth companies, high-performing cultures and efficient operations. Prior to Urban Airship, Erin managed all benefits and compensation programs at New Seasons Market. She held HR management roles at VTech, Ensequence and MBL Group LLC.
Erin holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Portland State University.
