Customer Spotlight: comiXology Lets You Buy Comics Once and Read Them Anywhere

As recent sales suggest, digital comics are bringing new life into an old industry. ComiXology, the revolutionary cloud-based digital comics platform, lets you purchase and read issues of Batman, Spider-Man, The Walking Dead and tens of thousands of other comics on your smartphones, tablets and even desktops. Fans can immediately download and view their favorite comics at any time on any screen.

ComiXology provides consumers access to over 30,000 comics from top publishers, such as Marvel, DC and Image to name a few. Charting as iTunes’ #3 top grossing iPad app of 2012 and the only app in the top 10 for both 2011 and 2012, comiXology makes it super convenient to purchase and read your favorite comics whenever and wherever you want. Once you create a free account, you can purchase and read comics across the entire comiXology platform including, iPad, iPhone, Android, Kindle Fire and the comiXology website. No wonder The New York Times called the app “the iTunes of comic books.”

Recently, comiXology opened their platform to independent comic book creators and graphic novelists looking to sell their work. All the creator has to do is upload their comic as a PDF through the comiXology Submit portal and once it passes a simple approval process, comiXology will transform the work with their Guided View reading technology and then make the comic available across comiXology’s entire platform.

ComiXology’s Guided View reading technology offers a more immersive and cinematic reading experience that’s optimized for mobile devices and available across the entire platform. Here’s a brief video:

Push notifications ensure readers don’t miss out on new releases and sales of their favorite comic book series. Simply go to the Settings page to enable push notifications for news, sales alerts and memory shortage.

If you are a comic book fan, this is a must-have app. Download the free comiXology app for iOS, Android, Kindle Fire or Windows 8.
