A couple of quick questions:
1. Are you attending the CES show in Las Vegas next month? I’d like to meet with someone from your company so we can take advantage of more of your services that Upbeat Workouts is already using.
2. Is there a way to sell bulk-iPhone apps to subscribers of an event (Example: there’s a marathon running race, there are 20,000 runners, we provide them with a training program that is pushed out 4x a week for 8 weeks through the app).

The drop in email doesn’t surprise me too much. There are so many fundamental problems with emails. We’re lucky if we get a 50% open rate on our email list, and it’s a double opt-in model. Notifications allow us to engage the customers who are actually using our products without getting snagged by SPAM filters, etc. So long as we don’t abuse the communication channel, it’s the best way to let our customers know of important developments.

Thank you for sharing these useful insights Scott. We at Neemware.com have developed a product that would help developers engage with their mobile users. Email has been a good tool to communicate but lacks the context and I believe is not ideal for user engagement.

IMO, Googarola can start handing out Android devices cheaper than candy.

That is what HTC, Samsung et al have to worry about. Googarola’s revenue may come from the zillion penny-per-transaction NFC payments it will be in the middle of, rather than some massive hardware profit margin, such as Apple rely on. Google are really good at accumulating Billion$ by collecting pennies.

While Windows Phone 7 seems like the logical platform to rise up (as RIM jumps off whatever building they’re jumping off of), I have to wonder about the Dark Horse in the race, Meego? It’s open. Rumour is it’s exceptional.

Are the boys and girls of INTEL flying off to at least make a play for it today? If they don’t catch the next flight out, the may miss the boat.
